Nextreme Appoints Jim Mundell as Chief Operating Officer

Operations veteran to lead thermoelectric products company…

DURHAM, N.C. (March 30, 2010) — Nextreme Thermal Solutions, the leader in microscale thermal and power management products for the electronics industry, today announced that Jim Mundell, Nextreme's senior vice president & general manager, will assume leadership of the company as Chief Operating Officer. Mundell replaces Jesko von Windheim, who has stepped down to pursue other entrepreneurial opportunities.

Mundell has more than 30 years of senior executive experience with P & L experience in semiconductor, microelectronics, medical devices and electronic systems manufacturing serving the computer, medical, military, and commercial markets. Jim has held executive positions such as COO, VP, GM, and VP of International Operations with GE, Harris, CTS, SCI Systems, and various early stage technology companies such as CBA, Volumetrics Medical Imaging, and Trivirix International. Jim received his MS in Industrial Administration (MBA) from Purdue University's Krannert School of Management and his BS in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue University.

Since its inception in late 2004, von Windheim has been CEO of Nextreme. The company was formed to commercialize thermoelectric material under development at RTI International. During von Windheim's tenure, the company raised more than $35M in funding and expanded its product line, services and manufacturing facilities.
